Today I made my weekly visit to capture more pictures of the progress. I'm unable to participate more on the "hands on" aspect as I would like to right now, but I do what I can as my schedule permits. Besides, my primary role is Team Manager...............so I take care of the stuff "behind the scenes" and am the one tasked with data collection (which means photos, and lots of them).
My primary focus was to hang up on the wall a special treat for my fellow restoration crew members. I hinted at this earlier, but I salvaged about 30% of the deck of the L/H sponson and decided to create something to show appreciation for everyone's hard work, sacrifices, and dedication to the project.
At some point tonight, the main crew will arrive and they will see what I did for them. What i did was I took that same sponson piece, built a frame behind it to hang on the wall, and applied a custom vinyl decal of The Squire Shop logo and dedicated it to the restoration crew. The idea is that ANYONE who has helped out along the way (and going forward) has earned the right to sign their name to the sponson forever immortalizing their contributions to this monumental effort.
I'll add pictures of it next week, I want to have a few signatures on it before I do.
Dave Williams and I discussed our next steps going forward, what our options were, and what we were both aiming to achieve. All I can say is that your all going to like the direction were heading, good times ahead for sure.
I was presented with my crew shirt today, and the standard museum "Squire Shop" t-shirts arrived as well. if you go to the museum store, you can order your own t-shirt and hat to show your support for the team.
Anyhow, enjoy the pictures and the two YouTube videos below. The videos are a virtual tour of the boat, it will feel like you were there yourself.
