Unlimited Hydroplane Restoration Project
Update #35
This weeks update shows the progress being made on the drivers cowling, as most of the repairs needed to bring it back to original configuration is complete.
The new fiberglass sections have been added in, which includes detailed pieces to both sides near the armrest sections where the cowling was split and the angled profile to the deck changed. The headrest section is complete, as well as the front where the cowling had around 4-5 inches removed when it was narrowed in 1982.
There is still a lot of detail work to be tackled, such as endless sanding and removal of the glues and Bondo that was applied............but Brad will continue to bring it back to its former glory.
As for the hull itself, the batons have been installed and the team is now ready to break up into mini teams to tackle specific projects. One team will begin building the nose section, another will tackle the sponsons and non-trips, as well as continuation on the fiberglass and metal parts.
Once again, thank you all for your continued support!
Happy Thanksgiving everyone!
