We are now at the point in the project where we can begin re-installing some of the original Squire Shop wood back into the hull, which we are all pleased knowing we found a interesting way to do so. The part of this that is unique in a way, is that we are having key individuals associated with the team from 1979-1981 sign these wood pieces as our way of honoring their dedication and sacrifices for "paving the way" for us to follow.
Kelly Stocklin was the first one to sign his name, and many others will be doing so in the next few weeks. We have identified around 20 people, and were still trying to track down a couple of them.
So to put it simply to anyone who may be asking, the answer is yes........................there will still be original wood left in the hull once the restoration is complete.
What does than mean exactly you may be asking?
Well, I'll put it this way.........every section of the hull from the tips of the sponsons all the way back to the transom will have original wood throughout (and everywhere in-between).
Again, thanks to all of you out there for your ongoing and continued support!
Look for the next restoration update to be posted by the end of the week, stay tuned...
