Unlimited Hydroplane Restoration Project
Update #14 (January 31, 2017)
The waiting for glue to dry game...
The team has made more progress on the vertical stabilizer mold, but there is a lot more that needs to be done. You can now see that foam has been added to the wood plug and it is beginning to take shape.
Brad Haskin has joined the team to assist with continuing on with the cowling restorations. Brad and Tim Ramsay go back as teammates together on the Miss Budweiser team, so Mr. Haskin is a valuable addition to the effort!
Brad will assess the condition of both the drivers and engine cowlings, and every effort will be made to reuse both parts. Irregardless, a new mold will be made of each for use on the Circus Circus restoration at some later date.
I even got my hands dirty today sand blasting some of the original aluminum parts, which is actually fun to do. It's a lot like pressure washing, so if you like doing that.................then this is just as fun!
I even posted a couple pictures of the engine shop in the museum,as well as a couple pictures of the Miss Bardahl's progress...........good stuff.
